There's a fabulous new paper exploring the cost savings and ROI of instant messaging and telephony integration. Joel Waterman authored this piece to net out ways this technology enables you to do more with less.An excerpt:
"By now there is sufficient independent evidence that there is an ROI on UC² - which stands for Unified Communications and Collaboration. The objective of this paper is to explore how customers realize cost savings and revenue gains from implementing Unified Communications strategies. We will explore which ROI and TCO categories are responsible for the largest contribution either in savings or revenue gain.
More often than not ROI discussions are either far too generic to be believable – “product X increases productivity” - or they are firmly stuck in the realm of advertorials - “product Y will reduce travel costs”. In contrast, this discussion is infused with real examples of actual benefits observed in businesses all over the world."
ROI is what you measure in your business environment. This paper explores how advanced communication and collaboration technologies can drive costs down and revenue up in certain categories or ROI elements as we called them. We'll see use cases reviewed in 6 categories:
1.Business processes
2.Communications
3.Employee and customer satisfaction
4.Knowledge access
5.Competitive position
6.Travel
